Green workplace pays Now

The greening of office space is growing at a breakneck pace, and the case for building green or doing a green office retrofit project is mounting. The question of whether to build green may finally be shifting from 'should we?' to 'how fast, and how green?' The opportunity for competitive advantage is at hand, and the consequences of slipping behind the curve could be costly.

In a 2008 Deloitte study entitled The Dollars And Sense of Green Retrofits the author Charles Lockwood offers that “We (Deloitte) believe that within the next three years, companies that do not have green workplaces will be at a competitive disadvantage from higher operating costs, lower productivity, declining attraction and retention of skilled workers, and an increasingly negative brand image.” The revealing results of this study will be referenced throughout this paper.
